Using local magazine to advertise
Hi All
It will cost me around $40 for a one time ad
Do you think this could work?
Has it worked for anyone here?

I haven't tried local press advertising but I know people who do use it for our kind of business and get okay results in an area close to me.
If its only ~$40 why not give it a go and find out for yourself, you will get a much more accurate idea of the value than anyone on here can give you

Using local magazine to advertise is an outdated process of getting coverage for the products. It was used and are also being used today but the return of the investment here is very limited. With rapid expansion of world wide web people are trying to get their desired products after knowing about them clearly. In the internet they have huge opportunity to get more information regarding their desired products or services because it is digital and only through clicking the icons they can get a lot. Thanks

Depends on your product. If your product is very local based than yes. You have to think about what your return is. If your product is a digital service, than no because very different people read local newspapers than use services. So be mindful of that.

Probably better to spend that $40 on building local SEO backlinks on the web. There forever (not one time) and there reach and conversion capabilities are limitless. Not sure why any local business would be spending money on 1 time ads when you can build a permanent virtual ad for 1/5th the cost. Were there any results from this test?

Oh, it definitely works. You just have to choose the right magazine, and when I say choose the right one I mean choosing the right niche for advertising. Regarding of how much you pay, advertising in related niches will definitely get some traffic towards you given that you have valuable content to get them interested.
